Repower

With newer panels becoming more efficient and continuing to reduce in price, finance is the main driver for solar assets being upgraded on rooftop and groundmount systems.

Other drivers of repowering also include faulty DC / inverters, land use change, financial acquisitions or leaking roofs.

In many instances the original solar panels still have many years more life in them and have degraded far less than their stated product warranty. For installers, this raises the question “what shall we do with our old solar panels?”

ReSolar provides roof-to-roof and field-to-field services, whereby we work with the project from the outset to develop a fully costed and compliant decomissioning plan.

To help us build a thorough understand of the best pathway for the solar asset, our bespoke triage services include:

  • on-site inspection of the panels pre-decomissioning

  • deep analysis of site generation data

  • off-site testing post decommissioning

If the panels are deemed reuseable, we broker agreements with reused projects. We offer a fully traceable service, whereby we can provide details of the exact location of where your panels have ended up.

If we deem the panels unuseable or damaged, or showing signs of high degradation we direct you to our verified recycling partners.

Regardless if the modules are going to be reused or recycled, our bespoke transport and logistics methods reduce transport costs by 50% and retain value for their downstream pathways.

We can also provide additional support in labour to ensure your panels are removed from site within project time constrains and the WEEE framework, retaining value of your asset.

By engaging with our decomissioning services early on, your project can be budgetted and managed accordingly.
